Night patrol, anti-theft
Coffee prices are at a record high in recent years. This poses a risk of coffee theft and other social evils. For example, in Bao Lam district (Lam Dong), there are about 32,000 hectares of coffee ready for harvest.
Major Tran Van Doanh - Deputy Captain of the Criminal Police Team of Bao Lam District Police said that the unit has issued a plan to forecast the situation and be one step ahead, in order to mobilize all forces to participate in preventing and fighting all types of crimes.
Bao Lam District Police have established an inter-force task force to conduct closed patrols.

Each motorbike has 2 people, the forces follow the inter-village and intra-field roads to go through the coffee gardens in Loc Nam commune (Bao Lam district).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, in village 7, Loc Nam commune, shared that her family has 2 hectares of coffee. For the past few nights, her family has been staying in the garden and keeping watch for thieves. She feels very secure when the security force works side by side with the people, patrolling all night.
In addition to patrolling the roads, the police force also arranged a task force to block Highway 55, ready to check any suspicious cases.
Need people's cooperation
Captain Vu Truong - Deputy Head of Loc Nam Commune Police informed that the unit has developed a plan to coordinate with security forces at the grassroots level to increase continuous patrols and close the area at night.
Along with that, the police force has stepped up propaganda, crime prevention, and denunciation. With the motto of “prevention is the main thing”, the commune police assigned tasks to officers and soldiers to stay close to the area.
Thereby, grasping the population, registering temporary residence and temporary absence for people from other localities coming to harvest coffee.
Major Tran Sy Ty - Head of Loc Duc Commune Police (Bao Lam District) said that to ensure security and order during the coffee harvest season, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the people themselves, especially the timely declaration of temporary residence for workers coming to harvest.
When detecting suspicious subjects, people need to immediately report to the police for monitoring, management and handling measures.
Along with the synchronous implementation of measures and plans to prevent crimes and social evils, the whole district has more than 1,500 security cameras connected to the police headquarters.
Lieutenant Colonel Dau Xuan Bao - Head of Bao Lam District Police said that since mid-October, the unit has developed a plan and launched a peak period of attack, suppressing all types of crimes, ensuring security and order in the area.
Bao Lam District Police have directed professional teams to review and deter individuals with criminal records; strengthen inspections of residential activities in the area; and encourage agricultural product purchasing points to sign a commitment not to consume coffee of unknown origin.
In particular, the unit has also arranged undercover reconnaissance forces in key and border areas to ensure security and order to help people harvest coffee with peace of mind.
