According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, from the beginning of the year to now, the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage Site (belonging to the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac World Cultural Heritage Complex) has welcomed about 1,000,600 tourists, an increase of 2.2 times compared to the same period last year, exceeding the target for the whole year 2026.
In which, visitors to the mountain reached over 655,000; pagodas on the outer route and Truc Lam Cultural Center reached 345,600 visitors.
In July 2025, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac historical and scenic complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Yen Tu being honored by UNESCO has opened up opportunities for development in tourism, services, and culture. From that potential, Quang Ninh identifies the development of the "heritage economy" as a strategic direction in sustainable socio-economic development.
In which, Quang Ninh province has organized the development of mechanisms and policies to ensure balance and harmony between heritage preservation and livelihood development for people, building the community to become the center in heritage protection. At the same time, implement solutions, improve the spirit of responsibility, and commit to well implementing regulations in heritage management and promotion, especially in UNESCO-recognized heritage complexes.
In 2026, Quang Ninh province identified it as the "Yen Tu Tourism Year", considering this as a key direction to spread and promote heritage values, elevate destinations, and promote cultural and spiritual tourism.
Yen Tu Tourism Year" aims to make Yen Tu heritage a four-season destination with many tourist activities, promotional programs, demand stimulation... vibrant all year round. The province aims to welcome at least 1 million visitors to visit and worship Yen Tu in 2026.
The harmonious combination of preserving traditional values and developing modern services has helped Yen Tu maintain its own identity, while meeting the diverse needs of the market. Along with that, the application of a 100% free entrance policy until December 31, 2028, along with free parking for cars and motorbikes at Ha Kieu station until December 31, 2026, has created favorable conditions, contributing to attracting a large number of tourists.
In the coming time, Quang Ninh province will continue to effectively exploit destinations during the summer tourist peak season and organize a series of cultural, sports, and tourism events associated with the unique values of Yen Tu until the end of the year. Thereby, increasing the attractiveness of cultural and spiritual tourism products, while contributing to diversifying experiences for tourists when coming to Quang Ninh.
