On June 9, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a decision approving the Investment Project for the construction and installation of a vehicle weight control system on roads in the city.
Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction as the investor to implement the project. The investment scale includes the construction and installation of an automatic vehicle weight control system at 4 locations: the area north of Thang Long bridge and branches up and down the approach road in Dong Anh district; the Nguyen Khoi - Linh Nam intersection area, Hoang Mai district; the Km41+00 area of National Highway 32, Son Tay town; the Km4+800 area of National Highway 21, Son Tay town.
The total investment of the project is more than 264 billion VND. The implementation progress in the period of 2025 - 2026 is from the city budget.
Vehicle load control works include: Dynamic system; camera system; weighing data processing software system and automatic license plate recognition software via camera image; server and storage system; power supply system (including backup power supply system); data transmission system; lightningproof system; grounding system for all equipment; road signal system; technical room or technical cabinet containing system operation equipment...
Previously, implementing the direction of the Department of Construction, the Department Inspectorate and the city's interdisciplinary sector surveyed locations that met the prescribed conditions to place electronic weighing stations to automatically control vehicle weight.
Through the survey, the interdisciplinary team has agreed on 14 qualified locations on the following routes: National Highway 1, National Highway 32, National Highway 6, Ho Chi Minh Road - National Highway 21A, National Highway 21B, dykes, provincial roads in the districts and towns: Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Soc Son, Ung Hoa, Chuong My, Thach That, Phu Xuyen, Ba Vi and Son Tay town.
