Garavini is based in Turin , which continues the legacy of a coachbuilder founded in 1908. Its latest project is based on the Fiat Topolino (a favorite of tuners for its compact size and basic design) inspired by the Mediterranean island of Capri and the Dolce Vita lifestyle.
The front end of the car has a more modern design with round LED lights similar to the Fiat 500. The body has been completely redesigned, with no doors and a semi-open cargo area with a wooden floor. Highlights include a canvas-like roof and a circular detail that looks like a spare wheel holder. Inside, Carrozzeria Garavini added new seats with removable headrests, which are often used when sitting at the beach.
According to the company, each car will be personalized according to the owner's preferences. In addition, the company does not interfere with the car's transmission system to ensure the car's original operating mode. Fiat Topolino is still powered by an electric motor that produces 8 horsepower with a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that allows for a range of 75km.
The conversion price will start at $50,257 (excluding taxes and costs of the original car). Adding in the retail price of a Topolino (around $10,500), the total cost of a Garavini-built Topolino will be over $61,000 before taxes.
For those on a lower budget, the Castagna Milano package is also available . The Fiat Topolino will have a long tail, a convertible design, and a beach-inspired interior. The package starts at $26,746, which is much lower than the Carrosseria Garavini package.
