Hot weather can strongly increase the temperature in the car cabin.
The hot sun reaching 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in Hanoi in recent days is causing a lot of worry for car users. When parking vehicles for a long time under the harsh sun, the cabin will be heated up very high, posing many potential safety risks for both people and vehicles if not handled properly.
Mr. Tran Quoc Hai - a driver in Cau Giay ward - shared that every time he has to park his car on the street for about an hour, when he returns to open the car door, the suffocating heat hits his face directly. The space inside the car at that time was very stuffy, all the leather seats and steering wheel were hot, forcing him to open the doors and wait a long time before daring to step in because he was afraid of heat shock.
Sharing the same situation, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - a technology car driver - said that the nature of his job makes him often have to park his car to wait for customers in the sun. Mr. Duc said that not only is he tired from high temperatures, but he is also constantly worried that the electronic equipment and interior of the car will be reduced in age, even the risk of dangerous fire and explosion from accidentally forgotten items in the cabin.

Points to note when moving and parking cars in hot sunlight
Understanding more clearly the negative impacts of harsh sunny weather on vehicles is extremely important. According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Hung - Service Advisor of Hz Auto Garage, extreme hot weather like today directly and comprehensively affects the car, including three points to note: tires, cabin space and engine cooling system.
The first is the tire system. When rubber tires continuously friction with the asphalt road surface that is heating up, expansion occurs. For old tires that have cracked and broken, the risk of tire blowouts and tire damage when moving is very high.
The second is the greenhouse effect in the cabin. Mr. Nguyen Khac Hung emphasized that if the outdoor temperature is about 40 degrees Celsius, the temperature in the passenger compartment when parked under the sun for a long time can be pushed up to 60 to 70 degrees Celsius. This extreme temperature threshold causes the leather surface and dashboard plastic to release harmful substances, both quickly damaging the interior and dangerous to health.

The third problem lies in the engine and cooling system. When the weather is too hot, the internal combustion engine both generates a lot of heat and has to bear the air conditioning system operating at full capacity. If the cooling water or engine oil solution is not guaranteed, the system will be overloaded, causing overheating and making the car unable to continue moving.
Solutions to protect cars and use air conditioners properly
Faced with the above risks, representatives from Hz Auto have issued recommendations to drivers to take preliminary inspection measures before departure. Drivers should check the tire surface and maintain tire pressure at a moderate level, and should not leave it too tight or too weak. In particular, periodic inspection of engine oil and coolant water is mandatory to ensure the most smooth operation of the machinery.

With the question that many drivers are interested in about how to make the air conditioning system operate effectively and economically, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hung pointed out the handling process including the following steps:
- After parking in the sun, before getting in the car, you need to lower all the car windows.
- Turn on the fan for about 2 to 3 minutes to push out all the hot air and toxins accumulated.
- Start the car, close the windows and then start opening the air conditioning system, and switch to indoor ventilation mode to keep cool air circulating stably, preventing dust from entering the car.
