Hanoi - AI cameras in 24 hours have detected dozens of cases of running red lights.

According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, between 12:00 on December 20, 2025 and 12:00 on December 21, 2025, the camera system using artificial intelligence (AI) operated by this unit recorded a series of violations of traffic order and safety in Hanoi and the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway.

Accordingly, at km20 of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, the AI camera recorded 11,328 vehicles in circulation, with an average speed of 78km/h.

Through data analysis, the system detected 15 cases of not wearing a seat belt; did not record any cases of using a phone while driving.

Violations have been reported to vehicle owners for handling according to regulations.

In the inner city of Hanoi, the pilot AI camera system installed at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection (Cau Giay ward) has automatically detected 49 cases of not wearing helmets and 71 cases of not obeying traffic light signals (running red lights), mainly motorbikes and mopeds. No cases of going in the wrong direction have been recorded in this area.

AI cameras installed on Le Van Luong Street did not detect any cases of going in the wrong lane within the above time frame.

All violations have been transferred to Hanoi City Police and functional units to carry out the handling process in accordance with legal regulations.

The Traffic Police Department recommends that people strictly comply with traffic laws, contributing to ensuring safety for themselves and the community when participating in traffic.
