In August 2025 (from August 1 to August 31), through the traffic surveillance camera system, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police detected and recorded data on violations of 37 motorbikes.
According to the reporter's investigation, the above cases violated traffic light signals at 2 intersection locations, including: Ly Thuong Kiet - Ba Trieu (Cua Nam ward) and Nguyen Thai Hoc - Ton Duc Thang (O Cho Dua ward).
The fine for the above behavior is from 4 - 6 million VND, deducting 4 points from the driver's license.

Regarding the traffic camera system in Hanoi, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department is currently operating more than 600 clusters, operating 24/24.
Through this camera system, the Traffic Command and Traffic Light Control Team - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police is responsible for operating the traffic light system, regulating vehicles at intersections, ensuring smooth traffic operations.
In addition, the camera system also records traffic violations - which is the basis for the authorities to verify and punish.
When detecting violating vehicles, officers and soldiers on duty at the Command Center will report via walkie-talkie to traffic patrol teams to stop the vehicles, check and make a record for direct handling.
If the violating vehicle cannot be stopped, the information will be transferred to the form of a fine. In cases where a direct penalty record has been issued, no additional fines will be applied.

In addition, from May 26, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department also started deploying more than 20 penalty points on inner-city routes. The core force implementing the plan is the Youth Union of the Traffic Police Department.
Specialized working groups led by union members coordinate with local forces to patrol and record violations at key routes and intersections, especially during rush hour.
The plan is implemented from May 26 to October 14, 2025.
