Faced with the situation of some motorbike drivers deliberately covering their license plates and using their phones while traveling or transporting bulky goods, the Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police has developed a thematic handling plan, increasing patrols and controls on many routes.

On the morning of December 10, 2025, the Traffic Police force simultaneously deployed inspections at key routes. On Tran Nhat Duat Street, in just about an hour, the working group discovered many violations. In particular, technology driver N.V.H (born in 2005, residing in Hanoi) was fined for using his phone continuously while driving with the reason of "view the order". According to regulations, this behavior is subject to a fine of VND 900,000 and a deduction of points from the driver's license.

At the same time, on Ho Tung Mau Street, Traffic Police Team No. 6 recorded many violations related to vehicle license plates. Mr. N.V.V. (born in 1976, Hanoi) was discovered driving a motorbike with a covered license plate and could not present a driver's license or register a vehicle as required by the authorities.

According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, on the morning of December 10, the authorities handled 77 violations, fined more than 224.5 million VND, temporarily detained 40 vehicles and deducted 8 driving license points. Including: 37 cases of using phones or electronic devices while driving, 47 cases of covering, pasting or leaving items to cover the license plate, 1 case of using homemade three-wheeled vehicles

The Traffic Police said that acts such as covering license plates, carrying bulky goods or using phones while driving all cause traffic insecurity, posing a potential risk of serious accidents. Hanoi Police will continue to maintain inspection and strict handling to ensure traffic order and safety in the area.
