SM Green CEO Nguyen Van Thanh shared that when he first started his business, the team wondered "When will it reach 100,000 trips/day?", but after just a few weeks, this number quickly increased to 300,000, then 500,000 trips/day. And then, in less than two years, it reached 1 million trips/day - equivalent to over 11 trips per second, reflecting the strong growth of the Vietnamese electric taxi brand.
"For me, one of the special joys of being a startup is being counted. The feeling of watching my brainchild grow up every day with my teammates is really great," said Mr. Thanh.
With that growth momentum, Xanh SM is setting a new goal: joining the Southeast Asia Global Startup Club to achieve 100M MTUs (reaching 100 million transactions/month), equivalent to more than 3.3 million transactions per day.
SM Green CEO also answered many users' questions and calculated that most of the trips in the above 3.3 million transaction mark will come from abroad, i.e. operating markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos and some new markets about to open.
According to the latest report from Mordor Intelligence, in the second quarter of 2025, Xanh SM will account for 44.68% of the 4-wheel taxi market share in Vietnam - leading the whole industry. This is the third consecutive quarter that SM Green has held the number one position in terms of market share.
Not only leading in the number of trips, Xanh SM also has an advantage in other important indicators such as total transaction value (GMV), network coverage and service quality. The entire technology taxi market in the second quarter recorded more than 97.9 million trips with a total GMV reaching 353.41 million USD, of which SM Green contributed a large part.
