The Mazda EZ-6 is available in two versions: a pure electric (BEV) and an extended-range (EREV, with a gasoline engine that charges the battery). The EZ-6 takes inspiration from Mazda's Kodo design, with slim headlights, LED daytime running lights, and an illuminated Mazda logo. It comes in two new paint colors that Mazda calls Moon Gray and Radiant Yellow.
In terms of exterior, the EZ-6 has a fastback design with a rear spoiler that activates at speeds above 90 km/h, helping to improve aerodynamics. The car has dimensions of 4,921 x 1,890 x 1,485 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. Compared to the 2024 Mazda6 sedan, the EZ-6 is larger.
The interior of the Mazda EZ-6 features a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital clock, and a 50-inch AR-HUD display. The cabin of the Mazda EZ-6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, which integrates air conditioning, seat adjustment, and entertainment system functions.
The car also has additional features such as: Surround View Mode with 13 options; 64-color lighting system; 14-speaker Sony sound system and reclining front seats. Mazda moved the gear lever up to the top of the steering column, creating space for the center console with 2 wireless phone charging pads.
For the pure electric version, the company equipped a rear-mounted motor with a capacity of 120 horsepower and 2 battery options: 56.1 kWh for a range of 480 km and 68.8 kWh for a range of 600 km. According to information from the company, both types of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries charge from 30-80% in just 15 minutes.
The EREV version includes a 1.5-liter engine with 93 horsepower, combined with a 214-horsepower electric motor. The two battery configurations provide 130 km or 200 km, with a maximum combined range of up to 1,301 km. Charging from 30-80% in 20 minutes.
The Mazda EZ-6 features L2.5 driver assistance technology with adaptive cruise control. The car can park remotely and has more than 150 parking scenarios for everyday driving.
According to Mazda, China will be the first market for the EZ-6 before the Japanese company can sell it elsewhere in the world later this year.
