The tank 500 is one of four new car lines distributed by the GWM brand (Great Wall Motor) brought to Vietnam at the end of February 2025 via Chinese imports. According to information from distributor GWM, the vehicle is only sold in a hybrid engine version.
Despite sharing the same name, GWM tank 500 has a completely different design compared to the tank 300 model. The 300-tune tank version is dusty, rich in off-road with a 2-row seat configuration. The tank 500 version has a more familiar look to ordinary customers with a 3-row seat configuration.
tank 500, tank 300 and Wey 80 are expected to be 3 new models of GWM, launched in Vietnam this year. Currently, dealers are accepting deposits for the tank 500 model and said the car will be launched around the second quarter of 2025. Previously, the tank 300 model had received a deposit. As of now, the official selling price of the GWM tank 500 model has not been announced.
The overall size of the GWM tank 500 is 5,078 x 1,934 x 1,905 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The front of the vehicle is equipped with a large grille with chrome-plated edges. In the Thai market, tank 500 is equipped with high-end features such as: full LED lighting system, chrome details on the front and rear, 20-inch wheels, automatic electric step steps and a spare wheel mounted on the rear, etc.
In the interior, the GWM tank 500 design is luxurious; leather seats are air-ven though; large touchscreen and a board with bright decorative details.
