The Traffic Police Department said: The use of alcohol and beer during Tet is inevitable. However, to ensure safety for themselves, their families and the community, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department requests people to strictly comply with the message "Alcohol and beer - do not drive".
Accordingly, people proactively choose public transport, taxis or ask relatives who do not use alcohol or beer to drive vehicles, contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year days.
According to information from the Traffic Police Department, implementing the plan of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, on the evening of February 14, Road Traffic Police Team No. 7 arranged 2 working groups to perform the task of controlling alcohol concentration for drivers participating in traffic in the area.
Recording the task force on duty at the Nguyen Trai - Khuat Duy Tien intersection, from 7:30 pm, functional forces conducted alcohol concentration control for motorcyclists, cars and even transport business vehicles.
After 1 hour of control, at 8:30 pm, the task force discovered Mr. D. M. T (born in 1985, residing in Hung Yen) driving a motorbike with license plate 12L1-062xx violating the alcohol concentration level at 0.030 mg/l. The task force made a record of administrative violation and temporarily seized the vehicle according to regulations.

In addition to being fined, violators will also have their driver's license points deducted according to regulations.
In about 2 hours of duty, through inspecting hundreds of vehicles, the task force only discovered 3 cases of motorbike drivers violating alcohol concentration.
“In the process of working with violators, all 3 cases when detected were carrying relatives, especially in some cases carrying a whole family including a wife and 2 young children to wish Tet - this is a dangerous violation, potentially risky for many people,” Major Dung emphasized.
