Regarding the accident that occurred on June 17 in Binh Son commune (Quang Ngai), the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security assessed that the woman riding the motorbike stopped to wait for a red light in the restricted observation area of the truck (also known as the blind spot).
When the traffic light turned green, the moving truck swept both people and vehicles under the chassis, causing the motorcyclist to die.

According to the Traffic Police Department, through the above incident, it can be seen that many motorbike drivers are still not fully aware of the danger of blind spots on trucks, container trucks or large vehicles.
Stopping, parking, changing direction or moving into areas out of sight for drivers poses a particularly serious risk of accidents.
In addition, many opinions believe that traffic organization at some intersections is still not really suitable. Many intersections have not arranged separate parking areas for motorbikes, and have not clearly separated lanes between cars and two-wheeled vehicles, making it easy for vehicles to collide, increasing the risk of accidents.
The Traffic Police Department clearly pointed out that blind spots are areas around the vehicle that the driver cannot observe directly or through the rearview mirror. For trucks, container trucks or oversized and overweight vehicles, these areas are often much wider than for cars.
Common blind spots include the area near the front of the car, both sides (especially the right side), the rear rear of the car and the diagonal angles in the front and rear due to the rearview mirrors not being able to fully cover.

Blind spots make it difficult for drivers to change lanes, turn, turn around or stop, and also increase the risk of collisions with motorbikes, bicycles and pedestrians. In many cases, accidents can cause particularly serious consequences.
To limit risks, the Traffic Police Department recommends that truck drivers carefully observe before changing direction, combine using convex mirrors, cameras, support sensors and always maintain a safe distance.
For motorbike drivers, it is necessary to avoid moving or stopping to wait too close to the front of the vehicle, both sides and the rear of the large truck; absolutely do not go into the blind spot to reduce the risk of unfortunate accidents.
