Previously, the Traffic Police Department, Hung Yen Provincial Police, said that from August 18 to August 24, through exploiting the surveillance camera system and using professional equipment, the traffic police force fined vehicle owners for running red lights:
The police note that the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulating administrative sanctions for violations of road traffic safety and order; deduction of points, restoration of driving license points take effect from January 1, 2025.
Accordingly, some violations of road traffic safety have increased fines compared to before, such as drivers of cars running red lights being fined 18-20 million VND (old level is 4-6 million VND); motorbike drivers running red lights being fined from 4-6 million VND (old fine is 800,000 VND to 1 million VND).
In order to effectively implement the newly issued laws, the traffic police forces of localities are actively implementing many synchronous measures, with the motto of focusing on both propaganda and strict handling.

The police requested violators to go to the police headquarters where the fine was detected or to the police station where they resided to resolve the violation according to regulations.
