On the evening of March 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that after a period of deploying 500 public bicycles in the central area, the unit continued to coordinate with Tri Nam Group Joint Stock Company to deploy additional public electric bicycle services.
In the initial phase, people will experience the service for free to get acquainted with the new form of transportation.
From 4 pm on March 15 to the end of March 31, 2026, people and tourists when registering for the TNGo-HCM application will receive a free 15-minute experience code for each account.
The experience point is located at the Tax Trade Center public bicycle station (area at the intersection of Le Loi - Nguyen Hue streets, Saigon ward).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, the use of electric bicycles is quite simple through a phone application.
Users only need to download the TNGo-HCM application on the App Store or CH Play, register an account, enter a promotion code to receive 15 minutes of experience. Then, select "Use tickets now" and scan the QR code on the car to unlock.
The car is equipped with a helmet placed in the front basket. When moving, the user turns the right throttle to start. At the end of the journey, the user returns the car to the nearest station, puts away the helmet and operates to return the car on the application.
After the experience phase, the operating unit plans to apply a price suitable for many different travel needs.
15 minutes costs 10,000 VND; 30 minutes 20,000 VND; 60 minutes 35,000 VND. In addition, there are longer packages such as 120 minutes (60,000 VND) and 240 minutes (110,000 VND).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, the addition of electric bicycles not only helps diversify travel choices for people but also contributes to reducing emissions, towards the goal of sustainable transport development in Ho Chi Minh City.
