Detroit auto show recorded the number of attendees decreased sharply in January 2025. The last time the exhibition was held in January 2019, attracting 774,179 visitors. This figure was disappointed at that time when it dropped to 35,000 people compared to 2018. Previously, in 2016, the exhibition had nearly 816,000 visitors.
According to David Sowerby - Executive Director and Category Management at Ancora (Private Asset Management Company), Detroit 2025 Auto Show is expected to have economic impacts up to 370 million USD (about 9,365 billion copper). This figure is lower than 430 million USD (about 10,884 billion) that the company calculated in 2019.
Previously, the Detroit Auto Show was called the North American International Auto Exhibition (NaIAS). This is an annual car event that took place in Detroit (USA) since 1965 and is also one of the largest auto exhibitions in the world.
In 2018, the exhibition was planned to move from January every year to June from 2020 to attract more visitors and organize outdoor events. However, by 2020, the event was canceled by the Covid-19 epidemic. The event also continued to be canceled in 2021 due to the continued pandemic.
With the 2025 version, the exhibition was held in January with the name of the Detroit Auto Show. The fact that this event is not surprising is not surprising that most automobile manufacturers think Detroit is no longer suitable for investment.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Detroit 2025 automobile exhibition event has the presence of 34 brands and nearly 500 cars on display.
