Hongqi brand has just introduced the Tiangong 05 model for the domestic market. Tiangong 05 is the second model in Hongqi's Tiangong series, the younger brother of Tiangong 08.
Tiangong 05 is the mass production version of Hongqi E009 Concept, developed based on the electric platform of SUV, MPV, crossover, sedan lines.
The new Tiangong 05 electric car features slim LED headlights that remain the same as the concept. The closed grille features a trapezoidal design. The original Hongqi New Energy logo has been replaced with the iconic vertical Hongqi logo that extends to the hood.
The car has a fastback design with 18-inch rims and hidden door handles. The LED taillights are designed in a Y shape. Tiangong 05 has dimensions of 4,820 x 1,915 x 1,480 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The versions weigh 1,890 kg and 2,018 kg respectively.
Hongqi equips the Tiangong 05 with 282 horsepower electric motors and lithium-ion battery packs with an optional range of 550 km or 750 km with a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The company has not yet announced the powertrain and details of the capacity of each battery pack.
The interior uses the main orange color tone, 2-spoke steering wheel design, large entertainment center screen. In addition, the car is also equipped with a 65-inch HUD screen and wireless charging.
According to plan, the Hongqi Tiangong 05 model will be launched in the first quarter of this year. The price of the car will be announced at the same time of launch.
According to the company, in 2024, the unit sold more than 410,000 vehicles, an increase of 17.4% over the same period last year. Since announcing the NEV new energy vehicle strategy on January 8, 2023, Hongqi has established 3 sub-brands: Hongqi Golden Sunflower; Hongqi New Energy Saving Vehicle and Tiangong.
