According to data from Jato Dynamics (a company specializing in providing global auto data) shows that Toyota's RAV4 model is the best-selling car of 2024 in the US, taking the Ford F-150 off the top position.
Sales of the F-150 large pickup truck decreased by 5% to 460,915 vehicles in 2024, while the RAV4 high-chassis model sold up to 475,193 vehicles (up 9%). The RAV4 model has been close to the F-150 for many years but has never been overshadowed by the Ford model.
In fact, if we count all other versions other than the F-150, the F-series is still the top selling car in the US for the 43rd consecutive year with 765,649 cars in 2024. Of which, the main contribution is the F-150 version.
The data separation of the F-series partly reflects the actual needs of customers because the F-150 or F-250, 359, 450 models (belonging to the Super Duty line) are actually considered different car lines.
In addition, the Honda CR-V model increased by 11% to 402,791 vehicles, holding 3rd place (an increase of one place compared to 2023). Tesla Model Y dropped one place from 3rd place in 2023 to 4th place in 2024 (down 3% to 372,613 vehicles).
The Chevrolet Silverado remains in 5th place but sales will decrease by 2% to 344,022 units in 2024. Toyota Camry is in 6th place despite a 7% increase to 309,875 vehicles. Nissan Rogue is in 8th place with sales down 7% to 245,724 vehicles.
Positions increased many places such as Toyota Corolla increased up to 4 places from 10th place in 2023 to 7th place in 2024 with sales increasing by 22% to 283,098 vehicles. The Honda Civic is ranked 9th in 2024, while last year it was ranked 14th, with sales increasing by 21% to 242,005 vehicles. The GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck ranked 10th, up 11% to 216,248 vehicles, while in 2023, it ranked 16th.
