Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security said that in 24 hours (from 7:30 am on June 29 to 7:30 am on June 30), the camera system applying artificial intelligence (AI) and the unit's feedback receiving platforms continued to record effectiveness in detecting and supporting the handling of traffic order and safety violations.
According to statistics, AI cameras installed on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway at Km20 recorded 9,311 traffic trips. The AI system issued warnings to 30 suspected violations, and through verification, it was determined that 4 vehicles violated the error of not fastening seat belts when participating in traffic.
In Hanoi, the AI camera system continues to detect many violations of traffic participants. Among them, there are 44 cases of motorbike drivers not wearing helmets, 44 cases of motorbikes running red lights, 1 case of motorbikes going against traffic and 2 cars going in the wrong lane.
In addition to AI camera monitoring, the Traffic Police Department also receives a large amount of feedback from people through online platforms.
Accordingly, through Facebook, the unit received 116 feedbacks and transferred 18 cases for verification. On Zalo, 11 feedbacks were received, of which 10 cases have been transferred for verification. Notably, the VNeTraffic application received 420 feedbacks, transferred for verification and handled 38 cases.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the acts reflected by people are mainly running red lights, going in the wrong lane, changing lanes improperly, going into the emergency stop lane, not complying with road markings, using phones when driving, not wearing helmets and going against traffic.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that traffic participants strictly comply with the provisions of law, and at the same time continue to accompany functional forces through VNeTraffic, Zalo and Facebook applications to reflect violations, contributing to building a safe and civilized traffic environment.
The Traffic Police Department warns that when receiving traffic violation notices, people should not rush to believe in messages, calls or links of unclear origin. Instead, it is necessary to proactively check information through official channels to avoid becoming victims of fraudsters.
The Traffic Police Department emphasized that violations handled in the form of "cold fines" are all notified in writing by functional agencies or request vehicle owners to come to the Police agency to work in accordance with regulations.
Currently, one of the fastest and most convenient ways to look up remote fines is through the VNeTraffic application. For people who have verified level 2 VNeID accounts and are vehicle owners, the system will automatically send a violation notification on VNeTraffic about 2 hours after the violation is recorded.
