Previously, on January 15, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "2 open landfills with smoky smoke, affecting traffic roads in Ninh Binh". The article reflected on the situation of burning garbage at the Nam Hong commune landfill, Ninh Binh province, causing scorching smoke throughout the area. It is worrying that the situation of burning garbage directly affects people living and cultivating near this area.

Not far from the Nam Hong commune garbage dump is the Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road that has just been put into use. Usually, vehicles move through the road at high speeds, so there is a potential risk of traffic unsafety when smoke from the garbage dump turns in the right direction of the wind towards this road.

Immediately after receiving feedback from Lao Dong Newspaper about the above landfill, leaders of Nam Hong Commune People's Committee requested to suspend the burning of garbage and put out the fire.
On January 26, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Chairman of Nam Hong Commune People's Committee, Ninh Binh province said: "Up to this point, the situation of burning open-air garbage at landfills in the commune that Lao Dong Newspaper previously reported is no longer there. We request to clear open-air garbage, transport it for treatment and it has been basically completed to ensure environmental sanitation. After treatment, this area will be used as a local garbage transfer point.
Chairman of Nam Hong Commune People's Committee added that in the coming time to thoroughly handle the above situation, the local government is focusing on finding solutions, developing a project to submit to the People's Council to remove and handle the waste situation in the area in a long-term direction.

Also at the old Nam Thanh commune garbage dump (now Nam Ninh commune), on January 27, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that the situation of burning garbage in the open was still reoccurring, the garbage waste was burned black and piled up into many large piles.
