Dak Nong directs handling of cracks in classrooms

Dak Nong - The Provincial People's Committee directed to clarify the content of information reported by Lao Dong Newspaper about the appearance of many cracks in preschool classrooms.

On September 26, Lao Dong Newspaper received an official dispatch from the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee regarding the content reported in the article "Many long cracks appeared in preschool classrooms" published on September 18.

Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee assigned Tuy Duc District People's Committee to urgently preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize inspections and clarify the issues reported by Lao Dong Newspaper. Thereby, assess the actual level of the problem compared to the information reflected. From there, have a plan to organize teaching for preschool children to ensure safety and suitability. In addition, Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee requested the locality to report before September 30.

On the other hand, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Education and Training, the People's Committees of districts and cities, according to the functions and tasks of the unit, to regularly organize the review and assessment of the current status of school buildings managed by the unit; especially during the rainy season and the complicated natural disaster situation as it is now; thereby, promptly detecting arising problems and having timely solutions.

Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee requires absolutely no teaching or other activities when schools and classrooms are not safe.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a classroom of Hoa Mai Kindergarten in Bon Bu Dach (Dak R'tih commune, Tuy Duc district) had many cracks around the wall.

Among them, there is a mark about 3m long and 3-4cm wide. This classroom has 20 students. As soon as the incident was discovered, the school arranged a new place for the students to study; at the same time, it fenced off the area, not allowing anyone to enter.

Before the above phenomenon appeared, this area experienced heavy and prolonged rain, causing the crack to widen, posing a potential safety risk.
