Hundreds of people in Yen Son commune, Tam Diep city (Ninh Binh) were upset and brought objects to block the road to prevent trucks from entering and leaving the mines exploiting raw materials in Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district (Ninh Binh).
On November 23, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Tong Duc Thuan - Vice Chairman of Tam Diep City People's Committee said that the transportation route from the raw material mines (section through Vinh Khuong village) to National Highway 12B is about 1.3km long, with high traffic volume, density and load, causing this route to deteriorate, with cracks, subsidence and potholes appearing.

In addition, during the transportation of materials, vehicles drop rocks, dust, and dirt, causing traffic insecurity. Some businesses have not coordinated with local people to implement measures to ensure environmental sanitation, thus directly affecting the daily lives of households on both sides of the road.
Due to frustration, on October 5 and 6, some households arbitrarily erected barricades to block vehicles carrying raw materials from entering and leaving the mines, causing disorder and insecurity.
Immediately after the incident, Tam Diep City People's Committee requested Yen Son Commune People's Committee to propagate to people to remove and collect obstacles, immediately stop arbitrarily blocking vehicles transporting raw materials into and out of mines, and ensure security and order in the area.
According to Mr. Thuan, there are currently 3 mines exploiting materials transported through Vinh Khuong village route. Of these 3 mines, 1 is located in Tam Diep city and 2 are located in Nho Quan district.
"We have now asked mining companies to temporarily suspend operations and to use their own money to rebuild the damaged road through Vinh Khuong village for the people," said Mr. Thuan.

During the time when mining enterprises stop operating to overcome the consequences, Tam Diep People's Committee assigned Yen Son Commune People's Committee to regularly monitor, promptly grasp the proposals and recommendations of the people and coordinate with mining enterprises, transporting raw materials, considering and resolving the people's legitimate opinions and recommendations according to the provisions of law.
"After the mining enterprises complete the road construction and commit to taking measures to remedy environmental pollution and ensure traffic safety, we will assign the People's Committee of Yen Son commune to organize a dialogue to reach an agreement between the people and the mining enterprise owners," said Mr. Thuan.
Previously, on October 11, Lao Dong Electronic published an article "People are angry and block the road, preventing trucks from entering and leaving the mine in Ninh Binh", reflecting the fact that hundreds of households in Vinh Khuong village (Yen Son commune, Tam Diep city, Ninh Binh province) brought tables, chairs, and other items to block the road, preventing trucks from entering and leaving the mines.
