Information on the epidemic situation in Hanoi from March 28 to April 4, Hanoi Department of Health said: According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), in the past week (from March 28 to April 4), the whole city recorded 206 cases of measles in 30 districts, towns and cities.
Some units recorded many patients such as: Hoang Mai, Nam Tu Liem1); Ha Dong (15); Dong Da, Tay Ho 11.; Bac Tu Liem, Hai Ba Trung (10).
In 2025, the city recorded 1,453 cases in 30/30 districts, towns, and cities, with 1 death, an increase over the same period in 2024. Patients are divided by age group: 12% under 6 months; 15.4% from 6-8 months; 10.0% from 9 - 11 months; 22.5% from 1 - 5 years old; 14.7% from 6 - 10 years old, 25.4% over 10 years old.
According to Hanoi CDC, the number of measles cases in the week continued to increase compared to last week, mainly in people who had not been vaccinated or had not been fully vaccinated, and it is forecasted that the number of cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time.
During the week, 203 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 25 districts and towns; 121 communes, wards and towns, an increase of 17 cases compared to the previous week (186 cases). Some units recorded many patients such as Ha Dong 32; Chuong My 27; Nam Tu Liem 26, Cau Giay and Thanh Oai 11; Bac Tu Liem, Dong Da, Me Linh 9.

During the week, 4 school outbreaks were recorded in My Dinh 2, Dai Mo and Me Tri, Nam Tu Liem (3 cases each); Van Phuc, Ha Dong (2 cases). The accumulation in 2025 recorded 12 outbreaks, while 6 outbreaks are active in Nam Tu Liem 3, Ha Dong 2, Dong Da 1.
The city also recorded 6 cases of dengue fever; equivalent to the previous week. Accumulated in 2025 recorded 205 cases; down compared to the same period in 2024. Patients were recorded in 28 districts, towns and cities. During the week of no outbreaks, in 2025, a total of 1 outbreak was recorded that had ended operations.
In addition, other epidemics such as tetanus, whooping cough, thrombosis, and streptococcus not recorded during the week.
Hanoi CDC has closely coordinated with relevant units to closely monitor the epidemic situation to promptly detect cases of the disease, organize investigations, isolation, and handling of the epidemic. Monitoring the implementation of regular vaccination and measles vaccination campaigns in 13 districts. Supervise the investigation and handling of cases and outbreaks in the following units: Phuc La - Ha Dong; Thinh Quang - Dong Da; Ta Thanh Oai - Thanh Tri; Co Nhue 1 - Bac Tu Liem.

Next week, Hanoi CDC will continue to monitor the prevention of measles and hand, foot and mouth disease in Dai Mo, Nam Tu Liem and Giang Bien, Long Bien. Inspecting data management and statistics on patient reports and dengue fever outbreaks in Cau Giay, Hoai Duc, Me Linh, Bac Tu Liem, Hai Ba Trung, Son Tay.
District, county and town health centers continue to review and organize measles vaccination for children subject to the campaign vaccination, focusing on children aged 6 to under 9 months and children aged 1-10 who have not been vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine.
Strengthen supervision of the detection of hand, foot and mouth disease in communities and kindergartens with cases and outbreaks; organize activities to thoroughly handle, clean the environment, and disinfect and prevent hand, foot and mouth disease according to regulations.
At the same time, strengthen coordination between the health and education sectors in monitoring, preventing and handling measles cases, hand, foot and mouth disease outbreaks... in schools; coordinate the implementation of vaccination in schools as well as review and promote parents to have their children fully vaccinated with all types of vaccines according to regulations. When there are cases of measles in schools, organize a review of children's vaccination to vaccinate unimmunized children for timely disease prevention.
Monitor the detection of patients at decentralized medical facilities and in the community to promptly investigate and handle cases and outbreaks, preventing the epidemic from spreading. Organize activities to monitor suspected measles rash fever, investigate epidemics, collect samples to test 100% of suspected cases, organize zoning, thoroughly handle areas with patients and outbreaks according to regulations.
