Dr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Nephrology, Urology and Dialysis - E Hospital said that on the day Typhoon No. 3 Yagi landed in Hanoi, E Hospital received a total of 36 emergency cases. Of which, 16 were surgical emergencies: 10 were emergency cases due to patients having accidents related to Typhoon No. 3; 20 were internal medicine emergencies.
Case of patient NTD (female, 68 years old, in Bac Giang province) was hospitalized with severe left chest pain accompanied by difficulty breathing, sweating, pain spreading to the neck, left arm and back... Previously, the patient was monitored at a local medical facility, however, when the condition became more severe, the patient was transferred to the emergency room at the Cardiovascular Center, E Hospital. Through X-ray images, echocardiography... the doctors determined that the patient had an acute myocardial infarction, requiring early intervention to ensure the patient's life.
According to Dr. Ly Duc Ngoc - Deputy Head of the Department of Adult Cardiology, Cardiovascular Center, E Hospital, this is one of three cardiovascular emergencies that doctors at the Cardiovascular Center, E Hospital performed intervention and cardiovascular emergency: coronary stent placement for three cases of acute myocardial infarction on the day storm No. 3 made landfall. After the intervention, the health of the three patients was stable.
In order to proactively respond when storm No. 3 makes landfall and prevent flooding of the hospital due to rain after the storm, the Board of Directors of E Hospital directed departments and rooms throughout the hospital to ensure the readiness of human resources, supplies, medicines, chemicals for flood and storm prevention, search and rescue; ensure on-duty work and emergency care 24/7.
