The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a Plan to implement the National Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Pharmaceutical Industry to 2030 and vision to 2045 in the city.
Da Nang City strives to proactively and promptly supply 100% of medicines for disease prevention and treatment needs; meet requirements for disease prevention, control, overcoming consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, public health incidents and other urgent needs for medicines.
The ratio of the value of domestically produced drugs to the total value of drugs used in medical facilities reaches 70% or more. Increase the ratio of payment for herbal medicines and traditional medicines in medical examination and treatment facilities from the health insurance fund in the total cost of drugs: by 2025 it will be at least 20% and by 2030 it will be 30%; in which, strive for the cost of using locally available medicinal herbs in treatment to be at least 5% of the total cost of herbal medicines and traditional medicines.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the area focus on producing drugs that have just expired copyright protection, drugs manufactured under franchise, processing, technology transfer, brand transfer... to make full use of the capacity of drug production lines and take advantage of available local labor resources. Strive to build or receive technology transfer, processing in coordination with production technology transfer.
In addition, increase production and create some high-quality oriental medicine products in the area. Develop a wide drug supply network throughout the city to create conditions for people to access drugs easily and promptly, especially in communes far from the city center of Hoa Vang district.
By 2045, continue to ensure proactive, adequate, and timely supply of quality, safe, and effective drugs at reasonable costs for people's disease prevention and treatment needs in each stage of socio-economic development. Drugs produced in the city increase export value, integrate into the global supply chain; proactively produce a number of specialized drugs, new drugs, vaccines, and biological products.
The system of drug testing, distribution, clinical pharmacy, drug information and pharmacovigilance has improved its operational efficiency, striving to reach a level equivalent to that of advanced countries in the region.
