On August 12, talking with Lao Dong, Mr. LVT (in Ea Knuech commune, Krong Pak district) - father of a 2-day-old baby girl who died at the Central Highlands General Hospital - shared: "There is now a representative from the Hospital. Central Highlands General Hospital and a number of other agencies came to visit and encourage the family."
"I am still asking the competent authorities to clarify the cause of my daughter's death. She was only 2 days old when she was born, and after being vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine, she died. The family just wants the truth. is clarified, those involved (if any) must be held responsible" - Mr. T added.
According to Mr. T, when his daughter died, his wife, HRA (34 years old), could not say a word. Sometimes when she misses her child, her wife cries, calls out "my child" and then looks through her phone to find a photo of the child when she was born to look at it.
Mr. T recounted: "On the afternoon of August 2, my wife went into labor and was taken to the Central Highlands General Hospital to wait for birth. At about 5:00 p.m. the same day, my daughter was born, weighing nearly 2kg. On August 3, my daughter was vaccinated. hepatitis B vaccine. After the injection, around 11:00 a.m. the same day, my daughter had a fever. I asked the nurse to check on the situation and was told that my daughter was fine."
At around 5:00 p.m. on August 3, Mr. T's daughter had to go to the emergency room due to seizures. On the morning of August 4, the doctor announced that Mr. T's daughter had heart and kidney failure, sepsis, and congenital heart disease. At 9:25 a.m. on August 4, the doctor announced that Mr. T's child had died.
Mr. T affirmed that his daughter only had unusual symptoms after receiving the vaccine. Therefore, the family requested the hospital to give a clear answer about the cause of his daughter's death.
"My family just wants to clarify the case. If the doctor is irresponsible, it must be handled to set an example and seek justice for his family" - Mr. T sadly said.
According to the death notice from the Central Highlands General Hospital, Mr. T's daughter died at 9:25 a.m. on August 4. The cause of death listed in the death certificate is: Neonatal sepsis, multi-organ damage, congenital heart disease monitoring, fetal malnutrition.
As Lao Dong informed, the Department of Health of Dak Lak province has established a Team to investigate serious complications after vaccination. This team will examine the case of a 2-day-old baby girl who died after being vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine at Central Highlands General Hospital.
The investigation team has 7 members from the Dak Lak Department of Health, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Disease Control and the Central Highlands General Hospital.
The investigation team is responsible for reviewing and evaluating serious complications after vaccination in the case of a 2-day-old baby girl, the child of Ms. HRA and Mr. LVT (Ea Knuech commune, Krong Pak district).
Central Highlands General Hospital has not yet made an official conclusion as to the cause of death of the girl mentioned above.
