Reader Tran Le Thuy Minh asked: "My friend works in the hospital's anesthesia and resuscitation department, has a certificate to practice as a general practitioner, then studied for a bachelor's degree in nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation. May I ask, can my friend convert or renew his practice license with the scope of professional activities being anesthesia and resuscitation nursing?"
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:
Currently, the granting of practice licenses with specialized scope is carried out according to the provisions of Article 125 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated December 30, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment.
Accordingly, the granting of a practice license with a specialized scope for a person with a nursing degree is applied in cases where that person must have a specialized degree (specialty I, specialty II) or a master's or doctorate in nursing in the field of health examination.
