Reader Bui Xuan Cuong said he is a resident physician and has a certificate to practice medicine and surgery. Doctor Chuong has a certificate to study 12 months in the neuro-oncology department in France.
"Can I extend my practice certificate to the field of neuro-oncology?" - a reader asked.
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:
Clause 3, Article 12 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated December 30, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of Articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment stipulates:
"Article 12. Requirements for specialized degrees and certificates of technical training in medical examination, treatment, and clinical psychology.
In case a specialized diploma is used to adjust the scope of practice as prescribed in Point a or Point b or Point c Clause 1 Article 19 of this Decree, the training start date must be after the date of being granted a practice license or adjusting the practice license".
According to the provisions of Article 12 of this Decree, if Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong has a specialized degree obtained after the date of being granted a practice license, his scope of practice will be considered and adjusted.
