Responding to the call from the Vietnam Stroke Association to raise public awareness of stroke, especially among students, Can Tho Central General Hospital in collaboration with Can Tho Medical College, the Angels Stroke Care Program - Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam Co., Ltd. organized a training course on " Enhancing public awareness of stroke - Training on recognition and treatment of stroke".
The training program was held at Can Tho Central General Hospital, taking place on May 26, May 29 and May 30. Each class has about 250 - 300 students.

Specialist Doctor II Pham Thanh Phong - Deputy Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital informed that stroke is getting younger, it is important to clearly understand the signs of recognizing stroke, provide first aid and transport patients to the hospital, safely.
For those working in the health sector, nurses are the first to receive patients, identify strokes and initiate stroke emergency care. The team needs to have expertise, skills, and been well-trained to help patients overcome their illness and recover quickly.

Dr. Ha Tan Duc (Head of the Stroke Department, Can Tho Central General Hospital) said that according to the new recommendation of the World Stroke Association, 1 in 4 normal people will have a stroke in the future.
The doctor emphasized that early identification of stroke patients will be through the signs of F.A.S.T (Facily Lie - Weakness of limbs - Snoring - Time of Initiation).
Above all, the patient's family must quickly take the patient to the nearest medical facility for emergency care and referral treatment for the patient, do not delay the patient's take to the hospital and provide first aid by folk measures such as drinking lemon juice, livelihood... because it will waste the patient's "golden hour".
To prevent diseases, people need to maintain a scientific lifestyle, especially proactively screening to detect diseases early.
