According to the Can Tho Department of Health, voluntary blood donation is a noble gesture, demonstrating the spirit of humanity and readiness to share in the community. Blood is a particularly valuable treatment drug that can only be donated from healthy people so far.

However, according to statistics, the amount of blood received at Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital is only about 50% of the actual demand. Above all, the number of people registering to donate blood in the coming time tends to decrease sharply.

This situation has caused many hospitals at 76 medical facilities in the Mekong Delta region to face the risk of serious anemia.

Can Tho Department of Health respectfully calls on all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, students, workers and people in the area and neighboring provinces to actively participate in voluntary blood donation, join hands to overcome the risk of anemia, and contribute to the treatment of patients.

Regular blood donation also helps the body increase new blood production, reducing excess iron in the blood, thereby contributing to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, stroke and cancer.
