On the morning of December 7, at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam - Russia International Eye Hospital in Hai Phong, Dr. Vuong Anh Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health said: In recent years, the ophthalmology sector has developed with many advances, applying many new methods and new techniques from the world, contributing to reducing the rate of blindness among Vietnamese people. Eye diseases are also better cared for and managed.
"The Vietnam - Russia International Eye Hospital in Hai Phong has demonstrated an important step forward in modernizing the ophthalmic healthcare system, creating conditions for Hai Phong people in particular and the Northeastern region in general to access international standard medical services right in their homeland," said Dr. Vuong Anh Duong.

Mr. Duong Chi Kien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam - Russia Medical Group said: The hospital is equipped with a modern machinery system, including the world's most advanced Visumax 800 machine for myopia removal surgery, along with Super Premium Cataract technology on the exclusive Cataract Workflow digital platform in cataract surgery. In particular, the vitreoretinal surgery technique with a 27G cutting head is available for the first time in Vietnam, providing optimal treatment solutions for patients. The hospital provides full examination and treatment services for ophthalmic diseases for children, adults and the elderly. In particular, the international-class pediatric ophthalmology department will help restore eye function and treat amblyopia with personalized regimens by ophthalmologists from the Russian Federation.
"With advanced, modern ophthalmological techniques and world-class equipment, in addition to medical examination and treatment for the people, we expect to attract international visitors to Vietnam for ophthalmological examination and treatment, contributing to the development of medical tourism services in Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general," said Mr. Kien.

The Vietnam - Russia International Eye Hospital System was established under the Vietnam - Russia Ophthalmology Cooperation Program signed by the two countries' Ministries of Health on May 15, 2007.
