Accepting distant acquaintances, young couple convinces family to build a home

Appearing in the program "Love is a wedding", the couple Thao Van - Van Trieu shared their journey of love away from Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City.

Thao Van (25 years old, living and working in Ho Chi Minh City) and Van Trieu (28 years old, selling wedding dresses, previously living in Hanoi) met in a business class and self-development in Nha Trang. The class has about 300 students, but the "single connection" section has brought the two closer together.

After the class, a group of friends went out to eat and then went to Tram Huong Tower to sit and chat. Van and Trieu talked from around 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., but what kept them in mind was the content of the story not revolving around familiar "finding a new person" questions, but... behavior, digital technology and topics about thinking and self-development.

Van said that her initial impression of Trieu came from two details: a young person who took the initiative to study more about business, and the image of him playing and getting along with the children of the students in the class. I thought, who knows, he would be a good father in the future, Van said.

For his part, Trieu admitted that at that time he had just broken up with his ex-lover, had no intention of opening his heart, but was gradually attracted to his maturity, independence and the way Van focused on work and himself.

After about a month of meeting each other in the following classes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, encouraged by the teacher to "make a business and be brave, if you like it, you have to act", Trieu decided to confess his love to Van after a class in Ho Chi Minh City. Van agreed but frankly shared the story with her family.

Van's parents hope their daughter will get married and settle down in Ho Chi Minh City, so they should be worried when they know that their boyfriend is living in Hanoi. Van made a clear request: "Parents give me 6 months to get to know each other. If he found it uncomfortable, he would stop and only keep the friendship. If it's appropriate, I will continue to be serious with him."

The Korean side also faced a lot of pressure. As the eldest son, he was reminded to not marry far to set an example for his younger siblings. His parents initially did not agree, even going to social networks to learn about Van. Trieu chose to dialogue: affirming that if Van deserves to be a long-term companion, he is willing to move to Ho Chi Minh City to start a business, and later welcome his parents to stay together so that the family can still be close.

During the period of long-distance love, conflicts arise mainly from habit differences. During the day, Van focused entirely on work, rarely texting, making Trieu sometimes feel "no need for feelings". He admitted that there were times when he was in high heat, using the words "highly hurt".

According to the couple, maintaining the habit of talking like that helps them not let small mistakes become big conflicts, while maintaining respect and trust in each other throughout their long-distance relationship.

About two or three months after falling in love, Trieu had in mind a plan to propose to Van. Initially, he planned to propose at the finish line of a sports tournament in Da Nang, where he participated in the competition, but the plan could not be implemented because Van's family had not agreed to let their daughter go far away with her boyfriend.

Not giving up, Trieu chose to take the step more firmly. He prepared gifts of clean food that Van's parents loved, wrote handwritten letters to the two, then went to Ho Chi Minh City with his parents to eat rice, visit the house and make a housework. As the atmosphere on both sides of the family gradually opened, he decided to organize another proposal.

During a course in Nha Trang, while Van was sitting down to dinner, the song "I do" suddenly rang out, everyone around stood up to congratulate her. Trieu stepped forward with a bouquet of flowers in hand and proposed.

Currently, the two have registered their marriage and moved to live together in an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City, living and working at the same time, waiting for the wedding day in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
