A casino owner in Quang Nam was arrested for defrauding players of more than 13 billion VND in 6 months.

On January 15, the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes of Quang Nam Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Que Chi (born in 1989, residing in Hoa Huong Ward, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam) to investigate the crime of fraud and appropriation of property through online lottery and hui.

According to the investigation records, since June 2024, Nguyen Thi Que Chi organized many people in Tam Ky City and neighboring areas to participate in online gambling on the Messenger application and using gambling accounting software.

Realizing that it was quite easy to raise money from gamblers, Chi came up with the idea of ​​appropriating gamblers' assets for personal use.

To carry out the plan, Que Chi created her own investment group and sent many fake Messenger accounts created by Chi or borrowed accounts from relatives and friends to participate in the campaigns to gain the trust of others, then appropriated their assets.

Initial investigation determined that Nguyen Thi Que Chi had defrauded and appropriated property from 50 people for a total of more than 13 billion VND.
