Previously, Quang Nam voters proposed to soon have a policy to invest in expanding and upgrading National Highways: 14B (through Nam Giang and Dai Loc districts), 14D (through Nam Giang district), 14H (section from Nong Son bridge, Que Trung commune to Truong Son Dong road, Nong Son district, Quang Nam province).
Currently, the traffic volume on the routes is very high; meanwhile, the road surface is still narrow, degraded, and does not ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles.
Responding to the above issue, the Ministry of Transport said that according to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, through Quang Nam province: National Highway 14B, 41.8km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes, current status is level IV scale, 2 lanes; National Highway 14D, 75km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes, current status is level V, 2 lanes; National Highway 14H, 76km long, level IV scale, 2 lanes, current status basically reaches level III - IV, 2 lanes, the section from Km60 - Km76 has the scale of a type A rural road.
Currently, due to resource difficulties, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highways 14B, 14D, 14H in the period 2021 - 2025.
The Ministry of Transport has acknowledged the voters' recommendations and will coordinate with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to report to competent authorities for consideration and investment in renovating and upgrading the route in the period 2026 - 2030.
To ensure traffic safety on the route, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to carry out regular maintenance and periodic repairs from 2022 to 2024 with a budget of about VND 249.6 billion. It is expected that in 2025, about VND 10.2 billion will be allocated to continue maintenance and repairs, ensuring safe operation and facilitating people's travel.
