The incident occurred on the night of June 6 on Huu Hung Street, Dai Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi City, causing local people to be confused and upset.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the clip was taken from the security camera of Mr. Pham Van Tien's family (54 years old, at 28-30 Huu Hung Street). Mr. Tien said that his family and many households along this route often had their electrical wires stolen from advertising signs, so they checked the camera again. Unexpectedly, the scene of a farm vehicle theft was recorded right in front of the house.
Images from the camera show two young men riding a motorbike chasing a tractor-trailer that was traveling slowly on Huu Hung Street, in front of Dai Mo Primary School. Suddenly, another man driving a motorbike from behind rushed forward to chase him. Because the farm vehicles moved slowly, the pursuers quickly approached.
The thief panicked, drove straight into the base of a cajuput tree, then jumped onto his accomplice's motorbike to escape. However, both fell onto the road; the pursuer was unfortunately pursued by a fall. While this person was struggling to get up, the two thieves quickly drove away.

Although the incident occurred right in a residential area, no one reported to the authorities because the lost assets were mainly... electric wires from advertising signs, with an insignificant value, only a few tens of thousands of VND. According to Mr. Tien, the stolen farm vehicle did not belong to anyone in the area. I heard it belonged to someone in the neighboring commune, about 2km from the scene, he said.
Some people in the area also said that such petty theft had happened many times. However, because the property was not large, and there were advertising signs placed on the street - which were often collected by the government - they did not report.

On the morning of June 9, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ho Trong Thang - Chairman of Dai Mo Ward People's Committee - said that the government has not received any feedback from the people.
"The government always mobilizes people to be vigilant and promptly report to the authorities on complex issues in their place of residence. When receiving specific information, we will direct the authorities to investigate and handle it strictly according to the law" - Mr. Thang emphasized.
According to Mr. Thang, even though these are just "petty" thefts, if they are negligent and subjective, they will create favorable conditions for rampant crimes. People need to raise their vigilance and coordinate with the authorities when detecting unusual signs to ensure security and order in the area.
