On April 10, the Department of Construction of Da Nang City announced a set of typical housing models, guiding the criteria for determining temporary and dilapidated houses, marking an important step forward in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for disadvantaged households in the area. The set of criteria for determining temporary and dilapidated houses is being researched and built by Da Nang based on central standards, but has been adjusted to be higher to suit local realities.
In addition to the subjects specified by the Ministry of Construction, Da Nang also expands the scope of support, including households with houses that do not meet the minimum living conditions. Specifically, the program will support cases of housing lacking or no longer having essential functional space such as kitchens, toilets, common living areas; housing in areas lacking electricity and water infrastructure; housing affected by natural disasters or at potential risk of fire and explosion.
In order to ensure the feasibility and variety of choices, the Department of Construction has cooperated with the Center for Construction Technical Advice and the City Construction Planning Institute to design 7 typical housing models, together with detailed estimates. These models were approved by the City Architecture Advisory Council and approved by the City People's Committee on March 26. People's Committees of communes and wards will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the locality to implement and introduce houses to people so that they can refer and select samples suitable for economic conditions and actual needs.
In order to increase the choice for people, the Department of Construction has received support from the Department of Public Housing Management and the Target Program - Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management (Ministry of Construction) in providing additional housing design models from other provinces and cities such as Binh Dinh, Can Tho, Nam Dinh, Ninh Thuan.
Da Nang aims to complete the elimination of 2,043 temporary and dilapidated houses before September 2. To date, the city has mobilized 18.5 billion VND from organizations and individuals and supported Hau Giang province with 71 billion VND in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Encouraging results have been achieved with 1,098 households supported, reaching 53.7% of the plan. Of which, 587/975 houses were supported for people with revolutionary contributions; 443/775 houses are part of the program to launch the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; and 68/293 houses are for other subjects.
