Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1046/QD-UBND approving the Urban Development Program of Bac Ninh province to 2030, aiming to concretize the urban development orientation towards modernity, sustainability and improving the quality of life of people.
According to the Program, the goal by 2030 is to build Bac Ninh to meet the criteria of a type I urban area, becoming a centrally-run city; and at the same time develop into a green, smart, modern urban area, rich in Kinh Bac cultural identity and one of the important economic growth poles of the North and the whole country.
By 2030, the province strives to achieve an urbanization rate of 65%; the proportion of urban traffic land on urban construction land reaches 25%. The average housing area of the whole province reaches 40m2/person, of which urban areas reach 42m2/person and rural areas reach 36.3m2/person.
To achieve the goal, the province has proposed a number of solutions to orient the development of urban space according to a multi-polar model, with clear stratification and decentralization, closely linked to the Hanoi Capital region and the Red River Delta region.
Improve mechanisms, policies and legal frameworks; promote the application of technology and innovation in the economy. Prioritize the application of urban development models associated with public transportation (TOD), promote green growth and improve adaptability to climate change.
The implementation of the program is expected to create an important foundation for Bac Ninh to synchronously develop infrastructure, improve urban quality and enhance competitiveness in the new period.
