On June 23, information from the Bac Ninh Provincial Electronic Information Portal said that, implementing the Prime Minister's direction on developing rental housing, Bac Ninh province is synchronously implementing many solutions to increase the supply of social housing, rental housing and worker accommodation, meeting the increasing demand of the labor force working in industrial parks in the area.
As one of the industrial growth poles of the country, Bac Ninh currently attracts hundreds of thousands of workers from many provinces and cities to live and work.
Along with strong industrial development, the need for stable, safe and affordable housing for workers is becoming increasingly urgent.
This is not only a social security issue but also an important factor contributing to retaining workers and improving competitiveness in attracting investment.
Grasping that situation, Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches, localities, and related businesses to urgently accelerate the progress of rental housing projects in the area.
The whole province currently has about 5,200 social housing units for rent, 3,487 worker accommodation units in industrial parks and nearly 13,900 boarding houses invested and built by people, creating a significant source of housing for workers. In particular, the province is implementing 4 worker accommodation projects with a scale of more than 5,200 apartments, contributing to supplementing the housing fund in the coming time.
In parallel with accelerating the progress of projects, Bac Ninh is focusing on reviewing land funds, perfecting mechanisms and policies and removing difficulties in the investment implementation process to create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in developing social housing and rental housing.
Along with that, the province has established a Housing Fund with an expected charter capital of 1,000 billion VND and is implementing a plan to create a social housing fund for rent from the fund's capital.
This is an important step to proactively create a stable and long-term rental housing supply, meeting the needs of workers, laborers, experts and those in need of housing.
In addition, Bac Ninh province is reviewing 256 land plots with a total area of more than 753 hectares to serve the development of social housing and rental housing in the period 2026 - 2030, creating a long-term land fund for housing projects serving workers and those in need.
Many new worker accommodation projects are also being implemented in key industrial parks such as: Quang Chau, Nam Son - Hap Linh, Gia Binh and VSIP Bac Ninh II, gradually forming a synchronous housing system associated with industrial development.
With the orientation of industrial development going hand in hand with ensuring social security, Bac Ninh is gradually building a diverse ecosystem of social housing and rental housing, contributing to improving the quality of life of workers, creating a foundation for sustainable growth and continuing to affirm the attractiveness of the investment environment in the province.
