HCMC urgently clears 1,605 households for projects worth over VND7,300 billion
HCMC - Chanh Hung and Phu Dinh wards (old District 8) are urgently reclaiming land from 1,605 households for the project to renovate the North bank of the Doi Canal worth more than VND 7,300 billion.
The project to renovate the North bank of the Doi Canal is about 4.3 km long, passing through Chanh Hung and Phu Dinh wards.
The main items include: building a 4.3 km long embankment, dredging part of the northern canal bed, upgrading the Hoai Thanh and Nguyen Duy routes along the canal bank (20 m wide road surface).
The project also built a new Nguyen Duy Street extension (from alley 157 Hung Phu to Chu Y Bridge, 16 m wide), Hiep An 2 Bridge, drainage system, lighting, trees and an inland waterway wharf to serve passengers.
The project has been started since August 2025, but until now it has not been able to hand over the entire site due to many problems in the compensation and clearance stages.
According to the District 8 Compensation and Site Clearance Board, the project needs to reclaim an area of about 5.85 hectares of land, related to 1,605 households and organizations. See more...

Implementing the direction of Gia Lai province on the development of social housing (NOXH), the Department of Construction has worked with 9 investors implementing social housing projects in the province, and at the same time urged and requested the completion of 1,500-2,000 units this year.
Currently, many projects are ensuring progress such as Lamer2 Social Housing (451 units), Nhon Phu 2 Social Housing (expected to complete 357 units), and housing projects in the Trade Union Institution Area. The Social Housing Apartment Project in Area C, Urban - Commercial Area North of Ha Thanh River is under construction, expected to complete the rough construction of 342 units this year.
