According to Lao Dong reporter's research, at the end of 2024, the People's Committee of Ha Dong district has just completed the 4th phase of land acquisition for 10 households in Quang Trung and Duong Noi wards to serve the construction of the La Khe canal hardening project (under the project to improve the drainage system in the western area of Hanoi).
According to the People's Committee of Ha Dong District, the project to improve the drainage system in the western area of Hanoi City is a key project of the city, which is of great significance in draining water for the entire western area.

Ha Dong District aims to complete site clearance in 2024 so that the La Khe canal hardening project can be completed by the end of 2025.
Notably, the project to improve the drainage system in the western area of Hanoi City was started in 2015. The project has a total investment of more than 7,000 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, with 2 main items: Yen Nghia pumping station and the project of hardening the entire La Khe canal.
In January 2020, the project completed the Yen Nghia pumping station. In this project, the project of hardening the entire La Khe canal has not been completed yet, and there is still unfinished construction.

Lao Dong's actual record on February 28 shows that the La Khe canal hardening project through Duong Noi ward (Ha Dong district) has not yet been completed, and there are still many construction materials.
Ms. Le Thi Hoa (living along Y La Street, Ha Dong District) said that due to long-term problems with compensation and site clearance, the La Khe canal hardening project has not yet been completed.
According to Ms. Hoa, the prolonged progress has caused the project to be in disarray, and people around have to live with the dusty, polluted scene for a long time.
Although Yen Nghia pumping station has been put into use, the western area of Hanoi City still suffers from flooding every time there is heavy rain.

Many people living here said that some sections of the La Khe canal project are behind schedule and have encountered difficulties in synchronous construction on both sides of the canal.
Notably, along the La Khe canal, some places have become places for gathering congested waste, construction waste, causing environmental pollution.
