In order to realize the goal of developing social housing, from the beginning of June to now, the Dien Bien Department of Construction and local authorities have organized many meetings and directly surveyed the field with investors.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong - Deputy Director of Dien Bien Department of Construction - emphasized that social housing development is one of the key tasks of the province, not only solving the housing problem for people and low-income people but also directly contributing to the province's double-digit economic growth target in 2026.
At the working session between the Department of Construction, Trade and Construction Co., Ltd. No. 6 and a number of communes and wards in early June, it was agreed to propose 6 projects in Thanh Nua commune (1 project), Thanh Yen commune (2 projects), Sam Mun commune (2 projects) and Dien Bien Phu ward (1 project).

Dien Bien's investment attraction is a receptiveness and commitment to accompany businesses. The province has applied the "green channel" mechanism with simplified procedures for social housing projects with non-budget investment capital, helping to reduce 60-90% of the resolution time.
In particular, the Department of Construction is committed to playing the role of the focal point for receiving dossiers, supporting investors to work with relevant agencies. The Provincial People's Committee also requested localities to include proposed locations in the general plan and proactively implement site clearance, creating "clean land" for businesses.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong added that for projects that have had a positive start such as the project on the 60m road (Dien Bien Phu ward) or in Thanh Yen commune, if the authorities at all levels resolutely accompany, it is expected that at the beginning of July 2026, they will have sufficient legal conditions to carry out the groundbreaking ceremony.
Mr. Bui Duc Giang - Director of Trading and Construction Co., Ltd. No. 6, affirmed that the enterprise is committed to fully implementing the provisions of law on investment and construction, ensuring the progress and quality of projects.

Businesses also expressed their determination to be ready to sponsor the development of planning products and proactively allocate funds to serve compensation and site clearance in accordance with regulations.
According to the housing development program for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2045 of the Dien Bien Department of Construction, the period 2021-2025 will develop an additional 20,000 m2 of social housing floor space, equivalent to about 400 new homes.
This number continues to increase in the period 2026-2030 with 55,000 m2 of floor space, providing about 1,100 more houses.
To realize the above goal, 12 prime land locations have been identified, mainly concentrated in urban areas with development potential with a total area of nearly 30 hectares and nearly 3,890 units.
