On March 11, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province announced that in March 2025, the relevant agencies will organize auctions and bidding for construction material mines such as soil, sand, and stone to meet the construction needs of key projects.
According to the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030, the province plans to allocate 57,465 billion VND for hundreds of infrastructure projects.
In 2025 alone, nearly VND5,076 billion was approved to implement 43 projects. Among them, there are many important projects such as: Upgrading and expanding Provincial Road 669, connecting National Highway 19 (An Khe town) with Truong Son Dong road (Kbang district).
Construction of the Mang Yang - Ia Pa inter-district road (provincial road 666). Nguyen Van Linh Street project (from Truong Chinh Street to Le Thanh Ton Street, Pleiku City).
Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway, connecting trade between Gia Lai, Binh Dinh and the South Central Coast region.
The implementation of these projects increases the demand for filling and construction materials. However, the prolonged mining licensing procedures are affecting the progress of the project.
Some enterprises, even though they won the auction for mineral exploitation rights, have not been able to operate due to problems in compensation for land and assets on land within the mining area.
The Provincial People's Committee requires localities to update and add mining locations to the mineral planning map to speed up auction procedures and grant exploitation rights.
Ensuring the supply of materials will help businesses construct smoothly, avoiding price fluctuations, capital overruns and delays, affecting the employment of workers.
