When designing a house, the bedroom should be arranged as far away from the main door as possible. This arrangement helps reduce noise from the stairs or walkway area, bringing a quiet space and a sense of security, thereby improving sleep quality.
The kitchen and bathroom should also be placed away from the bedroom to reduce noise and limit the spread of food odors into the resting space.
Food odors that appear frequently in the bedroom not only cause discomfort but can also affect health and sleep. Therefore, the bedroom should only arrange truly necessary items such as beds, wardrobes and dressing tables.
If possible, a private dressing room will be an ideal choice. Clothes are neatly hung on hooks, making choosing clothes more convenient, and the bedroom will be more airy when there is only a bed, two headboard cabinets and a few decorative items left.
For bedrooms with large areas, you can take advantage of the wardrobe to create a separate changing area, which is both convenient and saves space compared to using a regular wardrobe.
For a rectangular bedroom, interior arrangement is often more difficult. Many people use wardrobe to divide the room in half, but this approach can easily make the area near the entrance become dark and stuffy. Instead, a dressing room can be designed along the long edge of the room, about 1.5 m wide. This arrangement helps the space become more balanced and square, while creating a spacious and comfortable feeling. When you have a dressing room, you also do not need to use more cabinets or drawers because the capacity is significantly larger.
If after arranging the dressing room, the room is still long and narrow, you can use a semi-transparent partition to divide the space. This solution both utilizes natural light and creates two separate areas: a bright working area and a quiet, light-soft rest area. A reasonable division will bring a feeling of relaxation and support better sleep.
For bedrooms using king-size beds, it is necessary to carefully calculate the location of the bed to optimize the usable area. The bed should be arranged so that both people can easily go up and down from both sides, avoiding the situation where one person has to bother the other person every time they get out of bed.
In addition to placing the bed horizontally or vertically as usual, you can also try placing the head of the bed diagonally in a corner of the room. This arrangement helps both people access the bed more conveniently, while taking advantage of the space behind the head of the bed to place cabinets or small storage shelves.
To increase storage space, priority should be given to bed models with integrated drawers or compartments. The bed frame will become a place to store blankets, sheets, clothes or less used items, contributing to saving space and keeping the bedroom tidy.
