On the afternoon of August 16, the leader of the Department of Construction of Ha Tinh province said that Ha Tinh is ready for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Social Housing Project Phase 2 in Thach Linh ward (old), now Thanh Sen ward, on August 19 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
This is a project with a total floor area of over 46,200 m2 with 3 12-storey buildings, with more than 500 apartments; 41 3-storey commercial houses with traffic system, trees, sports fields, parking lots and other technical infrastructure according to the plan.
The project is invested by the Ha Tinh Development Investment Fund with a total investment of 550 billion VND.
The implementation of the Social Housing Project Phase 2 in Thanh Sen Ward has made many people who are eligible to buy and rent social housing according to regulations very excited, hoping the project will be completed soon so that they can enjoy the policy.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh (32 years old), a police officer who is renting a house in Thanh Sen ward, shared: "My wife and I do not have a house, and have been renting a house for a long time. The implementation of the construction of social housing in phase 2 in Thanh Sen ward makes my family very happy. Hopefully we will be able to buy social housing to have a place to live, convenient for work".
The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has also just issued a Decision on the Social Housing Project (effective from August 25, 2025 to May 31, 2030).
According to regulations, in cases where a social housing support policy is enjoyed and a house is owned but the house is far from the workplace, to be able to buy or rent a social housing, the distance from the place of owned housing to the workplace must be at least 30km and the distance from the location where the social housing is sold or rented to the workplace must be at most 15km.
The distance prescribed above is determined according to the shortest distance of road traffic route by high-reliability electronic map software ( Google Maps, Vietmap...); the location of the house and the working location of the subject are determined at the time of submitting the application for buying or renting social housing.
The Provincial People's Committee assigns the People's Committees of communes where there are houses and where there are headquarters or work agencies of beneficiaries of social housing support policies to coordinate with the Department of Construction to confirm the case of houses under their ownership but far from the working location as prescribed above.
Buyers and tenants of social housing that compare with the above regulations shall provide investors with accurate information about the location of the house and the location of work when registering to buy or rent social housing and shall be responsible before the law for the information provided.
"In case after being able to buy or rent-purchase social housing and find that the information provided by the buyer or lessee is inaccurate, not ensuring the conditions specified above and the relevant provisions of law, the handling of the house that has been purchased or rent-purchased shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Clause 10, Article 88 of the 2023 Housing Law", according to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.
