On August 16, Mr. Vo Dinh Ta - Principal of Vietnam - Korea - Quang Ngai College - said that the school had paid more than 2 billion VND in unpaid salaries (half of June 2025 and July 2025), with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND.
Regarding the debt for overtime teaching that Lao Dong Newspaper had previously reported, and is still owed lecturers billions of dong over the past 10 years, Mr. Ta said that the school has reported to departments and branches to submit to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to find solutions.
According to Mr. Vo Dinh Ta, from 2023, according to the policy, the school must be 100% financially independent. The reason the school owes lecturers overtime pay is because the salaries of civil servants and employees at the school have increased by 30%, while tuition fees have not increased; at the same time, enrollment work also faces many difficulties.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province - said that regarding the Vietnam - Korea - Quang Ngai College debt wages and overtime teaching fees to officials and employees, the Department has worked with the school and prepared a report to submit to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, after reflecting on the fact that lecturers at Vietnam - Korea - Quang Ngai College are owed overtime teaching fees, wages... on July 28, 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed departments and branches to urgently inspect. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Finance and relevant agencies and units to review and inspect the contents stated by Lao Dong Newspaper.
Units must specifically report the process and results of implementing the instructions of competent authorities on related recommendations of Vietnam - Korea - Quang Ngai College in the past; at the same time, clarify the difficulties and problems (if any). On that basis, synthesize, report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and direction in accordance with regulations.
