Thai Nguyen has just simultaneously started construction of 6 social housing projects with a total investment of more than 7,500 billion VND. The projects are expected to promote socio-economic development and solve the housing problem for low-income workers.
In which, the Cau Truc Urban Area social housing project is implemented on an area of 1.9 hectares, including 4 social housing buildings and 1 22-story commercial housing building.
The project has a total investment of more than 2,415 billion VND, providing 1,707 social housing units. Implementation time from the second quarter of 2026 to the end of the fourth quarter of 2029.
In Phan Dinh Phung central ward, 2 social housing projects for sale and lease were started with total investments of 712 billion VND and 718 billion VND respectively.
When completed, the 2 projects will meet more than 550 units for sale and 500 units for rent.
Not far from Phan Dinh Phung ward, the social housing project under the Cao Ngan Housing Area Project started construction on an area of nearly 4.5 hectares, with a population scale of 5,109 people.
It is expected to build about 1,960 social housing apartments for sale.
The total investment capital of the project is more than 2,116 billion VND, implementation progress from the second quarter of 2026 to the second quarter of 2029.
Going south, Van Xuan Social Housing Area has an area of about 2.1 hectares, with a total investment of more than 1,223 billion VND, including 910 social housing apartments and 247 commercial apartments.
The project is expected to be implemented from the second quarter of 2026 to the third quarter of 2029.
And at the social housing project under the Urban Area No. 2 Project, Bach Quang ward, with an area of about 4,997.36 m2. The project provides about 351 apartments with a total investment of over 316.5 billion VND.
In addition to the projects just started, in Thai Nguyen, many social housing projects worth trillions of VND are also being accelerated.
Started at the end of February 2026, the TNG Viet Bac social housing project has an area of nearly 1.9ha.
The project has a total investment of more than 1,230 billion VND, with a scale of 1,029 social housing apartments.
According to the plan, the project will be implemented in 36 months. However, the investor is committed to shortening the completion time to 24 months, providing stable accommodation for about 2,400 people.
Similarly, at the Social Housing project in Viet Han Urban Area in Pho Yen ward, it has now been completed to the 9th floor of the first building.
With a total of 1,128 apartments, the project meets the housing needs of nearly 2,500 people.
Social housing projects in Tich Luong and An Phu wards (Pho Yen) have also gradually emerged, and many important items have been completed after a long period of construction.
According to Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong, social housing development is a major policy of the Party and State, which is of great significance in ensuring social security and improving the quality of people's lives.
Thai Nguyen identifies this as a key political task, focusing on drastic direction to effectively implement the Government's Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments.
In the period 2025 - 2030, Thai Nguyen is assigned to complete 24,800 social housing units. However, the locality sets a target of completing 60,000 social housing units by 2030, about 2.4 times higher than the assigned target.
By the end of June 2026, the whole province had completed 2,181 social housing units. In 2025 alone, 1,154 units were completed, exceeding the target assigned by the Government and in the first 6 months of 2026, an additional 1,027 units were completed.
