Son My 1 Industrial Park project has an area of 1,070 hectares in Son My commune, Ham Tan district, invested by Son My Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Trading Company Limited. This is a key project of Binh Thuan, started on August 30, 2022.
According to records up to October 2024, that is, more than 2 years after the groundbreaking ceremony, at the location of the groundbreaking ceremony of Son My 1 Industrial Park, there is now only a long corrugated iron fence, inside is overgrown with grass and there is a corrugated iron camp inside.
The total land area to be recovered to implement the Son My 1 Industrial Park project in Ham Tan district is 375.57 hectares, including: Son My LNG Port Warehouse Project; Power Center; access road and industrial park operator house. Up to now, the area that has been compensated and cleared is more than 87 hectares; the remaining land area that must be compensated and cleared by 2025 is 288.56 hectares, including 69 households and individuals/61.06 hectares and 8 organizations/227.5 hectares.
In the above-mentioned project sections, there are areas where compensation and site clearance have been completed; compensation and site clearance are being carried out; the Commune People's Committee has met to consider the legality; the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council has been approved; and the compensation and support plan has been assessed and approved.
Regarding the above progress, in the most recent meeting to hear the progress report on the implementation of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai said that the progress of compensation and site clearance for the project in the past time was very slow. Meanwhile, the Son My 1 Industrial Park project in Ham Tan district is a very important project, when completed, it will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work directly with the People's Committee of Ham Tan district to remove difficulties and obstacles in compensation and site clearance for this project. Relevant departments, branches, sectors and units continue to guide and support the locality to effectively implement compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park project.
Ham Tan District People's Committee should be more proactive and closely coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park Project.
It is known that according to the working schedule, in mid-October, the leaders of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province and the Provincial Party Secretary will go to the grassroots to inspect the progress of infrastructure investment in industrial parks in Ham Tan district, including Son My 1 Industrial Park.
