Hanoi - The project to renovate alley 193 Phu Dien is under urgent construction, expected to be completed before June 30, contributing to reducing urban congestion and flooding.

These days, the project to renovate and expand alley 193 Phu Dien street is being implemented in an urgent atmosphere, showing the local determination to gradually remove "bottlenecks" in infrastructure, improve traffic conditions and urban embellishment in the area. The project implementation in the past time has received the attention of the people, with the expectation of solving the cramped infrastructure situation.

On April 2nd, at alley 193 Phu Dien, the section connecting to the Chua But Moc road area, although the weather and construction site were not favorable, the construction teams still deployed synchronously and urgently. A part of the old road surface was maintained for motorbikes and bicycles to circulate, while the remaining part continued to be excavated, leveled, preparing to expand according to plan, while still ensuring construction safety.

Many sections have been installed with large drainage culverts, preparing for the completion of the D600 system - an important item to overcome the long-standing flooding situation.

Traffic diversion, including banning cars from passing through the Chua But Moc route (section from alley 4 to alley 193 Phu Dien), initially helps reduce vehicle pressure. However, the narrowed road surface still makes it difficult for motorbikes to move.

In areas near Phu Dien A Secondary School, the traffic flow is crowded, so the construction unit arranged workers to support regulation and guide people to move. However, due to the narrow road surface, some sections are only enough for 1-2 motorbikes to avoid each other, travel is still difficult. Some points of dust, electrical wires and telecommunications cables have not been thoroughly handled.

However, the majority of people agree with the policy of the project. Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh (resident of alley 193 Phu Dien) shared: "The road section used to be small, inconvenient to travel, so expansion is very necessary.

Many people said that although travel is difficult during construction, they hope the project will be completed quickly so that traffic will be smooth, avoiding prolonged congestion, contributing to solving flooding and environmental pollution.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Binh - Deputy Director of the Phu Dien Ward Investment - Infrastructure Project Management Board, the project is implemented on the basis of full legal procedures, with close coordination between relevant units. The work of barricades and traffic diversion is carried out in accordance with the approved plan, including prohibiting cars from circulating through some sections to ensure construction safety. Immediately after being licensed, the Project Management Board coordinates with units to hand over the site, organize construction and traffic diversion. The system of signs, warning lights, and traffic guidance forces are also fully arranged to ensure safety.

In the process of implementation, the ward regularly inspects and reminds contractors to ensure safety, environmental sanitation, and minimize impacts on people.

Regarding the project scale, Mr. Binh said that the alley is about 500 m long, after completion it will have a cross-section of 17.5 m wide, arranged sidewalks of 5 m, a synchronous system of green trees, lighting and drainage. The project is expected to be completed before June 30. "Previously, this area was often flooded when it rained heavily, congested during peak hours due to many schools. When the project is completed, it will contribute to fundamentally solving problems of drainage, environment and traffic," Mr. Binh said.

The project to renovate and expand alley 193 Phu Dien is not only the expansion of a road, but also a comprehensive solution to remove the "bottleneck" of urban infrastructure. In the construction process, if we continue to focus on measures to ensure safety, reduce dust and create favorable conditions for people, the project will not only be completed on schedule but also create long-term consensus and support from the community.
