At the end of June, reporters' records in Gia Phu commune showed that the land to deploy Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster has a convenient location when it is located near the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, major traffic axes and the border gate area.
Currently, the land area of about 75ha has completed site clearance, creating conditions for the investor to deploy infrastructure items according to the plan.
Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster has a total investment of about 860 billion VND, oriented to develop according to the green industry model, circular economy and ESG standards.
The project will attract industries processing agricultural and forestry products, food, pharmaceuticals; production of wood, furniture; mechanics, electronics, refrigeration, garment and supporting industries.
Through observation, the project area has relatively flat terrain, large land fund, favorable for building technical infrastructure as well as attracting secondary investors in the coming time.
Local people expect that when the industrial cluster goes into operation, it will create more jobs right in their hometown, contributing to the development of services, trade and increasing income.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, a resident of Gia Phu commune, said that the project location is near the expressway and major roads, so it is very convenient for transporting goods.
People all hope the project will be implemented on schedule, both creating jobs and helping the area become more and more vibrant," Mr. Hoa said.
Leaders of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee assessed that Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster is not only an industrial infrastructure project but also a starting point for the province's green industrial - logistics ecosystem.
The completion of 100% site clearance shows the determination of the locality in accompanying businesses, ensuring project implementation on schedule.
According to the investor, about 13% of the project area is reserved for green trees, along with synchronously invested wastewater treatment, electricity supply, and water supply systems to meet the requirements of modern manufacturing enterprises.
Mr. Pham Quoc Viet - General Director of Lao Cai Industrial Development Investment Joint Stock Company (investor) said that the enterprise will prioritize attracting clean and high-tech industries, while training and recruiting local workers.
According to the plan, Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster will go into operation from the first quarter of 2027, creating jobs for thousands of workers, contributing to promoting industrial growth, increasing budget revenue and economic restructuring in Gia Phu commune and neighboring localities.
