People affected by landslide in Sa Pa will have new accommodation

Lao Cai - Households affected by the landslide in Muong Hoa commune (Sa Pa town) will be arranged to build new houses to stabilize their lives.

According to information from the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, after a consultation session in Muong Hoa commune on the construction, arrangement and support of housing for people affected by natural disasters, the unit has inspected the construction site of new housing for households affected by floods.

At the locations where houses were built for households affected by floods, Sa Pa Town Secretary Phan Dang Toan and the working delegation inspected the construction area, safety level, traffic system, and conditions for people to stabilize their lives.

Sharing with the residents, Mr. Phan Dang Toan hopes that in the new resettlement area, people will stabilize their lives, thereby reducing losses caused by natural disasters.

The Secretary of Sa Pa town requested specialized departments and Muong Hoa commune to proactively help households with new accommodation and build houses in accordance with traditional customs.

At the same time, it is requested that Muong Hoa commune's organizations support clearing the construction site so that on September 30, the groundbreaking ceremony for building houses for the people will be held.

Previously, due to heavy rain caused by storm No. 3, on the afternoon of September 8, in Hoa Su Pan 1 village, Muong Hoa commune (Sa Pa, Lao Cai), a serious landslide occurred, causing rocks and soil from above to fall on 4 households with 26 people at the foot of the hill.

The landslide killed 6 people and injured 9 others.
